Key Topics Discussed:

●      Consent Agenda and Bookkeeping: The Board reviewed and approved consent items including police activity, tax reports, and the developers report. The board also discussed and approved bookkeeping matters. 

●      Budget Review and Adjustments: The Board held a preliminary discussion on the operating budget for the next fiscal year. Discussions regarding budgets for permitting fees, police services, parking and traffic items. The finalized FYE 2027 budget will be voted on at the next Board meeting.

●      Audit Authorization: The Board authorized preparing the annual audit report with the District’s Financial Auditor. 

●      Historical Bond & Tax Report: The Board approved the filing of the newly required historical bond & tax report to the state Comptroller, which documents the District's bond and tax elections for the last 10 years.

●      Communication Items: The Board was updated on communication efforts for the District, including website traffic, alert statistics, and district website updates. The communication consultant is looking into opportunities to increase resident engagement.

●      Construction and Maintenance: The Board discussed the utility relocation on Homestead, which will require temporarily closing the road for approximately one week in early January. The Board also reviewed contracts and payouts and discussed fence-relocation efforts related to District drainage-easement maintenance. 

○      The Board addressed reports of standing water on roadways and will investigate a specific area on 18th Street, noting that such issues are often caused by settling or overwatering.

●      Committee Updates:

○The Board approved the formation of a Police Committee with Supervisors Johnson and Neff.

○Supervisor Rubin and Riggs were appointed to the North Lake Annexation Agreement Committee to review the development agreement ahead of the 2027 annexation expiration.

 

The next meeting of Belmont FWSD No. 1 will be held on January 12 at 7:00 p.m.
